“You won’t see them often, for wherever the crowd is they are not. Those odd ones, not many, but from them come the few good paintings, the few good symphonies, the few good books and other works. And from the best of the strange ones, perhaps nothing. They are their own paintings, their own books, their own music, their own work.”
— The Strongest of the Strange by Charles Bukowski
“Anger continued on past its usefulness becomes unjust, then dangerous… It fuels not positive activism but regression, obsession, vengeance, self-righteousness. Corrosive, it feeds off itself, destroying its host in the process.”
Ursula K. Le Guin
Show me a man who is willing to look me in the eye and know that his flattery is futile, and that his charm is in vain. Show me a man who knows that my heart is a lion that is not to be messed with, and that he should be careful about rattling the cage. Show me a man who does not underestimate me, a man who sees my strength, recognizes my ability, and is willing to match it with his own. I was not built to be a fragile porcelain figure, lamenting in desperate need of your affections. I will sit in the trenches with you and I will scale mountains by your side. Show me a man who sees that this soft spoken nature does not make me passive, and a man who knows he doesn’t want to learn that the hard way. Show me a man with a fire in his eyes that matches the flames in my own and a man who’s willing to take on this roaring heart and navigate the depths of this mind. Show me a man who takes his steps with honesty in his bones and love in his veins and I will meet his every stride with one of my own.
Show me a real man, and maybe then I’ll start dating.
Love me or hate me, both are in my favour… If you love me, I’ll always be in your heart … If you hate me, I’ll always be in your mind.
Hold fast to dreams, for if dreams die, life is a broken-winged bird that cannot fly.
Once you affirm that you intend to go higher, the universe will begin to show you the answers.
